Release status: The next iOS version is undergoing final testing with assistive technologies. It will not be released as fully compliant until the documented core tasks are completed on a physical iPhone. This information describes the planned state of the next version and explicitly identifies any outstanding tests.
General description of the service
Khopilot is an iPhone app for motorcyclists and car drivers. The service allows users to search for and plan routes, record a trip, receive visual and spoken guidance, view trip statistics, create a shareable route sticker, purchase or renew a Pro subscription, and access optional community and offline map features. Road traffic, signage, and safe driving are always the top priorities.
This is how the service is used
• After registration or login, a vehicle profile is selected.
• A destination can be searched for using text and selected without exclusively using the map.
• Before the journey begins, the route, duration, distance and driving mode are displayed.
• During a journey, visual status indicators are available to supplement spoken instructions. The journey can be ended via a labeled button.
• After the trip, statistics, map and diagrams can be read as a text summary and selected values can be shared as stickers.
• Subscription, recovery, privacy, account and support functions are accessible in the app.
Implementation of accessibility requirements
• Perceptible: Controls have programmatic names, roles, values, and states. Maps, diagrams, and sticker previews have alternative text options. Spoken safety instructions have visible text or status equivalents.
• Operable: The main tasks are designed for VoiceOver and Voice Control; essential actions have targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels. A simple map or precision gesture is not required for target selection.
• Understandable: Headings, stable labels, confirmed deletion and blocking actions, as well as announced error and progress states support predictable operation.
• Robust: The app uses native iOS semantics and system functions for VoiceOver, Voice Control, Larger Text, Dark Mode, and Reduce Motion.
• Display: The main app text can be enlarged to at least 200 percent. Main views reflow or become scrollable when text is larger. Tested text colors achieve a ratio of at least 4.5:1, and essential borders a ratio of at least 3:1.
• Not only color: selection, risk, moderation and driving states are additionally conveyed through text, symbol, form or programmatic state.
• Authentication and payment: Login, recovery, and purchase processes are performed using accessible app controls and Apple's native interfaces.
Compatibility and testing
The next version will be tested with current iPhone and iOS versions, as well as VoiceOver, Voice Control, Larger Text, Dark Mode, Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast, and "No Color Differentiation." The technical objectives are based on the German Federal Data Protection Act (BFSG) and the German Ordinance on the Protection of Victims of Violence (BFSGV), the applicable criteria of EN 301 549, and WCAG 2.2 AA. This guidance does not replace official or independent certification.
Known limitations
• The full A1–A10 testing matrix for the next version on a physical iPhone is not yet complete. Until then, no accessibility rating in the App Store will be considered passed.
• The accessibility of CarPlay also depends on the vehicle display, its input options, and the CarPlay features provided by Apple.
• An exported sticker is an image file. Khopilot describes the preview in the app; whether the description is retained after sharing depends on the target app. Users should add alternative text there if needed.
